#ITPE 2019 Letter

Dear podficcer,

It's my first year doing ITPE! I'm very excited and full of happy mushy feelings. Thank you for checking this out and please know that I will be thrilled, absolutely thrilled with anything, as long as you had fun podding your pod. My favourite thing is hearing people nerd out and being enthusiastic about what they love, so go with something you enjoy!
(there are some fandoms I have less to say about than others in this letter - this is mostly because they are smaller or I ship rarepairs, so you might not have a huge choice of fics to chose from, NOT because I love them any less)

• anything tagged as tumblrfic on my tumblr for short prompt responses or wild collective writing, or the fic rec tag for more traditional fics
• Obi-Wan is the light of my eyes, love of my life, dumpster fire of my heart. I also love every single Clone to bits
• I ship all the things, see the first section here (or the rarepair tag on my tumblr, if you're feeling adventurous)
• if you have time to spend on editing, you can really go overboard. if you've ever listened to a sw audiobook: that over the top. do you want to leave in the speeder bike noise for the entirety of the fic? is there blaster fire? SWOOSHING LIGHTSABERS? the Force theme slowly picking up during the narration? Vader's voice?go for it! they don't have to be long! a one minute fic with all the trimmings would really butter my toast
• if you are a god among humans and can do accents, i shall give you my first born for some Eli Vanto (any Eli is a good Eli, but thranto's a bonus. and there are blanket permission authors aboard that ship!) (but also if you, like me, can't do accents and still want to go for the Thrawn fandom, please don't let that stop you! accents are hard and 200% not a requirement!)

• Time travel/dimension jumping/meeting selves from another universe or timeline
• Exploration of identity (from Clones crafting their own individual identity, to Jedi characters finding their way outside the order for the first time, Alderaanian survivors dealing with what it means to be from a place that no longer exists, Luke grappling with re-creating the Jedi Order…)
• Exploration of different cultures (example: a characters panicking because they have feelings for someone who is NOT their partner! ...while their partner is super chill because their planet is poly by default; any kind of family-related traditions, see Mandoade casually adopting people left and right...)
• the Force. Weird, Mortis-style stuff, analysis of the Chosen One prophecy, big shows of power - but also small everyday Force things. There was meta about how Force-sensitive babies learn to speak later because they have other ways of communicating, for example. Or just characters casually using the Force, not just to move things, but in how they feel and interact with the world, having it woven into their very being
• Wild in-universe AUs. Pirate!Padmé meets Jedi!Hondo and together they rescue Senator!Anakin? Hell yeah! Luke was raised by Vader? Go for it! (it bears repeating: headcanons/plotbunnies welcome. You can plot at your microphone without a script and I’ll be happy as a clam, or you can read twitter threads or tumblr posts or whatever!)
• Clones cuddle piles. Touch-starved Jedi cuddle piles. A MIXED CUDDLE PILE!

 

Hamilton (musical)

• that's it, that's everything I want
• ...I lied. I love cannibal puns, drawn out descriptions of food and co-dependency. So basically, canon.
• I love Hannibal POV, seeing just how in love he is with Will, in his own way
• post-finale, they actually ran away instead and are living together? Yes!

• the more flowery and ornate the prose is, the happier I am
• there is so much good porn here, if you pick a fic rated explicit or a straight up PWP I shall be extremely pleased

Kingsman

• Eggsy and Roxy being bros! (no Eggsy/Roxy as endgame, though if there are references/it happened once, I'm fine)
• Harry and Merlin being bros, but also Harry/Merlin 
• Harry and Eggsy being badass together in a fun way, any kind of banter over the comms with Merlin, Harry and Eggsy flirting as they kill people, this kind of lighthearted stuff!

• any character or pairing, I genuinely LOVE them all
• yes, I did accidentally get aboard the Entrapta/Hordak train too, as well as shipping potentially everything, idek, I'm new, consider this your chance to rec me stuff and bring me aboard your ship
